Mood
Before making any major decorating decisions, it is best to find out the mood you want to create in your home.

Scale
Objects of different sizes inject character and drama in a room. Not having the proper scale in a room, can result in uninspired and under-scale space. Scale is one of the most difficult things to learn. Nevertheless, when done correctly, it creates an overwhelming effect.

Symmetry and balance
Symmetry and balance is essential in a home. It gives you tranquility and peace in your space. Symmetry and balance demands that you trick the eyes into believing the space is more harmonious than it is. There should always be smooth transition between textures, color, and form. With this transition, you can create a harmonious Zen-like state.

Lighting in your home
Lighting is one of the most critical factors in the way a home looks. Good lighting makes a dull room spark with life. Choice of lighting should be one of the very first decisions made when decorating a room. Lighting is not just about the style of fixture. You should concern the direction, color and energy efficiency.
Lighting in our home has a great effect on our moods and emotional well-being. Light defines spaces, enhances color, reveals texture and form. A successful lighting plan requires an understanding of the effect of different light sources. Decorating with light is less about selecting a pretty table lamp. It’s about making us feel comfortable and at ease in our home.
Lighting is not just what we see, it’s also what we feel. It can lift our spirits, depress us, excite us and alarm us to make us feel safe. If you need additional help with light, please let me know.

Moroccan Style
Moroccan style involves the use of vibrant and rich colors. Colors like red, creamy yellow, royal blues and deep purple. A Moroccan interior has bold accent walls with soothing neutrals to reflect the desert.
The Moroccan style is drawn from the Islamic design and the colors of the desert. I love Moroccan style because you get to use colors in such a bold fashion. Doorways and windows are usually arched or shaped in the Islamic key-hole design.

Bright ceramic and mosaic tiles are very important in Moroccan design. They are used to frame doors, windows, and on accent pieces. Woven Kilim rugs, silks, sheers and rich bold fabrics are some of the common textiles used in a Moroccan interior.
Furniture in a Moroccan design is a combination of carved wooden table with inlaid tile and over-stuffed upholstery. Chairs are usually decorated with colorful paints and carvings. This gives the furnishings a rich and royal look.
The Moroccan style comes from a vibrant and beautiful history. This style gives you a richly decorated space with a touch of royalty. I can say for me that, this style is very seductive and charming.
I am signing off until Monday so have a great weekend and we’ll meet again on Monday.

The right Christmas color scheme
There are many ways to pick the right color scheme for your Christmas decorations.
They include:
All your holidays’ decorations will be a lot easier if you start out with a specific color scheme. Happy decorating!

They include:
- Photos from books and magazines that are "staged" by professional designers. Use their ideas to get color scheme inspiration.
- If you have an item that is of sentimental value, draw your Christmas color from that item.
- If your home has warm colors, it would be best to choose colors in the warm hues. That will keep the feeling of your home in a harmonious decor.
- Do you have particularly happy memories from your childhood Christmases? If so, choose a color theme to enhance that memory.
- Work around the color scheme you have year round. Select complimentary colors that bring out the Christmas season.
All your holidays’ decorations will be a lot easier if you start out with a specific color scheme. Happy decorating!

Tuscany Living
When I think of Tuscany living, I think of shutters with flaking paint, copper utensils, patina on the walls, two-century year old sink, sunbeams lingering on stone steps and a wide ray of yellow shades to capture the sun.

Tuscany interiors stimulate a feeling of happy childhood memories. Memories of a stunning view across a valley filled with groves of olives, vineyards and sunflower fields.

Tuscany interiors give you the feeling of country living in its simplest form. A solid country bed with a mosquito net in the bedroom with an 18th century chair, how easy is that layout. Life feels so simple when you live in a Tuscany interior.
There is nothing ostentatious in the decor of Tuscany interiors. White washed walls and your grandmother 18th century chair would be sufficient to create an atmosphere of comfort.

I hope you get inspired to bring a little Tuscany sun in your home.
